Our last day in the USA started long before the sun came up and ended nearly 20 hours later on a plane back home.
For our last day at Disney World - and in Orlando - we head to Animal Kingdom, avoiding the water parks... or so we thought.
We decided to tackle two parks in one day in our second outing to Disney World.
As with Disneyland in Anaheim, we powered through Disney World pretty quickly, leaving us time to duck back to our hotel for a nap before returning for the evening's fireworks.
After spending yesterday sussing out all the rides and the order we ought to ride them in, we returned to actually get through them all as quickly as possible.
We spent our first day at Universal Studios getting a lay of the landing, and setting up our plan of attack for day two.
We left the greatest city in the world, with a couple of minor delays 👀 and spent the afternoon shopping in Orlando.
We crossed off the last few items for our New York list on the Monday, before Michael head off to Laracon on Tuesday and Wednesday, most of which Rhiannon spent hanging out in the hotel.
Loads more sightseeing in the greatest city in the world.
A sleep-in, some shopping, and a steamy saunter through New York in search of a loaf of bread on our second day in the Big Apple.
When planning this trip, we decided we had to see Washington, but also that we wanted to maximise time in New York and Orlando. Doing this required a whirlwind tour, cramming as much as possible into one day. On Segways!
The first four days of our US East Coast tour.
It's been a few days since our last post, over which we've covered quite a few kilometres, and seen some really beautiful scenery.
For a change of scenery, we travelled East via the Southern Alps to Christchurch and Oamaru.
We made the journey from Wellington to Picton on New Zeland's South Island, and onwards to Nelson and Hokitika.
We started our return to New Zealand with some familiar sites and locations, before heading south through Palmerston North and Wellington.
Our last day; not only in LA but also of our honeymoon has come far too quickly.
After knocking over Disneyland in just six short hours, we decided to use our second to last day to sleep in, head out to Santa Monica, and pack our bags for the trip home.
Visiting the happiest place on earth is much quicker when you don't have tiny humans tagging along
We skimped and saved and were hermits for the last 18 months, all so we could have a good shopping day and boy did we!
Perfect weather for an enjoyable day at Universal Studios with Sam.
Scouting, shopping, pizza and football all featured on our first day in Los Angeles.
Getting lost looking for lost and found, surprise security checks and 12 hours in a plane
Lots of steps, great views, and relaxation.
A bit of a sleep in on the first day of our relaxing stop over, followed by a stroll to the botanic gardens and a delicious lunch.
Our last day in Rome was relaxing, we did some packing, got our last pizza. Travel to Zürich was smooth, bar a little bout of forgetfulness.
Traffic was manic, streets were filthy. Probably would not visit again.
A lovely Sunday morning stroll through an impressive art gallery and beautifully vast gardens
After being spoilt with guided tours in Rome, we decided to have a go at showing ourselves around Florence.
Another full day walking tour, this time of the Vatican and three major basilicas
As Rhi wasn't feeling well and we had some washing to do, we decided to take a rest day
A full day of walking tours, incredible sites, and more history than I ever learnt in school!
Just a short post about our day full of travel, from Paris to Rome
We spent our last day in Paris on a three hour walking tour, which showed us some amazing sites, left me with a sore back, and Michael's sore knee flaring up.
A day of rest and a night of exposure
A day full of travel, minor fear of unwanted kidney surgery, and confirmation that baguettes are a big deal (in Paris)
London is REALLY big, the underground is awesome, and you have to do a LOT of walking to see everything (and we didn't get close to everything)
A slight lack of planning meant we pushed our trip to London back to Friday. We took the opportunity to have a bit of a sleep in before going out for another walk and to take in some of Bristol's pubs.
With a good tour guide, there's no shortage of things to see and do in Bristol.
Travel from Adelaide to Bristol and our first day of siteseeing around Bristol.
We're not off on our trip just yet, but it was suggested by Rhi that I hurry up and get this travel blog up and running.
